egypt – imports only against letter of credit
Egypt has banned the payment method “cash against documents”. As a result, imports must be settled using a letter of credit (L/C). The decree provides for a few exceptions, e.g. for courier consignments and for imports up to a value of USD 5,000. Please coordinate the procedure with your customers in Egypt in good time and open an L/C if necessary.
