egypt – additional information on the aci advance cargo system

The ACI system, which came into force on 1st October, 2021, was not defined in all its details until recently. Now the procedure is known.

Exporters who deliver goods to Egypt by sea freight must register once in advance with Cargo X. The registration is free of charge. After registration, a fee-based verification (USD 15.00) takes place.
As soon as a delivery is planned, the importer enters the data in Nafeza using a pro forma invoice. The system now generates an ACID number within 48 hours. Through CargoX’s communication with Nafeza, this number is made available to both parties.
All documents such as invoices, certificates of origin and freight documents (B/Ls) must contain the ACID number. Shipments arriving with shipping documents without an ACID number will be rejected. At least 48 hours before the arrival of the ship, the shipping documents must be uploaded by the exporter via CargoX. It must be ensured that all uploaded documents contain the ACID number. There is a fee for uploading the documents. For this purpose, a credit package must be purchased after successful registration, from which the corresponding amount is debited when uploading documents. CargoX I Egyptian ACI filing via the CargoX Platform.
